Citronella oil is an excellent insect repellant.

The oil can be applied on the body to be safe from bites and allergies. It helps in fighting fever and bringing down the temperature of the body. The oil is effective against nausea, headaches, oiliness in the skin and hair and fatigue .

Citronella is a versatile essential oil, and is a must for anyone who lives in a hot, humid environment.

As an insect repellent :- As an insect repellent, use a few drops in a burner, vaporizer, or diffuser. Works especially well if used by an open window. [Be careful if used indoors if you keep pet birds, as it can adversely affect caged birds.]

For your dogs :- For dogs with fleas or to protect them from mosquitoes during their outdoor walks, add a couple of drops to a “doggie bandana” or to an absorbent collar, such as woven nylon, and place around dog’s neck. Do not use this method for cats, as felines are much more sensitive to this scent.

Mixes Well With: - cedarwood, eucalyptus, lavender, oregano, rosemary and tea tree.

Tips : drop a few drops onto your carpet, bathroom rugs, door mats daily to keep the scent fresh and as an insect repellent.

Eucalyptus Lemon Gum Essential Oil (Eucalyptus citriodora) is probably the most invigorating essential oil.

It should be used very sparingly, as it is very powerful, lemony, fresh and invigorating. Use in an oil burner or vaporiser.

It is a good air purifier, deodoriser and can assist in insect repellents. Eucalyptus is known for anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, decongestant, deodorant, antiseptic, antibacterial and is a stimulating essential oil.

For joint and muscle pain. Massaging eucalyptus oil on the surface of the skin helps to relieve stress and pain. The volatile eucalyptus oil is analgesic and anti-inflammatory in nature. Therefore it is often recommended to patients suffering from rheumatism, lumbago, sprained ligaments and tendons, stiff muscles, aches, fibrosis and even nerve pain. The oil should be massaged in a circular motion on the affected areas of the body.

These soap decks are the best way to get the most usage out of your soap. When you store your soap in a dish or tray that allows the water to drain, your soap will dry properly and keep solid longer. If you leave the soap in a pool of water the bar will turn into mush, what a waste…

Unfinished Western Cedar Soap Saver Deck. We use seasoned Western Red Cedar (Thuja Plicata): This Cedar is one of North America's great renewable resources and has one of the longest life spans of any North American softwood~ a natural wood product, authentically sustainable and truly green.

Design helps absorb water and promote quick drying. This makes the soap deck perfect for the shower!

Its fibers contain natural compounds that act as preservatives, making the wood extremely long-lasting. These compounds provide natural resistance to moisture and decay. This wood absorbs/discharge moisture. It has a very low shrinkage factor and is resistant to warping, twisting and checking. Our cedar is free of pitch and resin.

The straight grain and uniform texture offer beautiful color variations and occasional knots. Its gentle sweet aromatic odor is captivating and adds a lovely touch to your bathroom.

Overtime, the wood may darken a bit when exposed to the elements of handmade soaps and the aroma will be less noticeable. It then takes on the scents from the essential oils used in handmade soaps.
